Finding the best vape kit for you comes down to a variety of factors such as your preference on size, whether you value simplicity over a magnitude of features, a built-in battery or a device that takes external batteries, mouth-to-lung (MTL) draw similar to traditional smoking or direct-to-lung (DTL) for sub-ohm vaping.

Each tank/pod is designed to be used with a certain ratio of e-liquid, sub-ohm tanks are designed for high VG e-liquid, whereas starter kits and pod systems are designed for e-liquids with a higher PG content, such as 50/50 e-liquids.
If the coil is not correctly installed it can cause gaps within the tank/pod meaning the e-liquid has a way to escape. For coils that screw in make sure that your coils threads are correctly lined up and for push fit coils make sure that the coil sits flush.

Priming your coil allows the cotton within the coil time to soak up e-liquid, reducing the chances of it burning out prematurely and extending your coils overall lifespan.
Start by place a few drops of e-liquid on each cotton hole on the sides of your new coil, then install it into your tank and fill your tank/pod up with e-liquid. Leave your coil for 5-10 minutes inside this full tank & you’re ready to start vaping.
Give your device 10-15 seconds between each draw to allow the coil to re-saturate with e-liquid to avoid your vape kits coil from burning sooner.
New vape coils need to be primed and allowed time to saturate with e-liquid between each draw, otherwise the cotton within the coil becomes burnt.
If you get a slight taste of burning, then this is called coil hot spotting, where a part of the coils cotton is burnt. This can be causes by overuse or the coil coming to the end of its life.
If it tastes entirely burnt, the likelihood is that the coil is at the end of its life and needs replacing.
Please ensure with all new coils they are primed, and you give your device 10-15 seconds between each draw to allow the coil to re-saturate with e-liquid before vaping again.
If you have recently upgraded from a starter kit to an advanced or to a vape kit that has a coil with a different resistance, then this could be why your vape tastes harsh.
Vape kits with lower resistance (ohm) coils heat up faster and vaporise more e-liquid, meaning you’re inhaling more vapour. If you recently upgraded, then your new kit may have a higher power output, meaning it is heating up your e-liquid at a much faster rate – leading to you inhaling more vapour than your used to.
We always recommend when upgrading to an advanced kit or using a lower ohm resistance coil that you try dropping down a nicotine strength or reducing the wattage on your device till you find what works best for you.
This can be due to something known as ‘Vaper’s Tongue’ which is where your tongues taste buds get used to a flavour and the taste appears to be muted.
We always recommend you ensure you’re drinking enough water to stay hydrated & change between different e-liquid flavours frequently to avoid vaper’s tongue.
A coil at the end of its life can also produce less flavour, if your coil hasn’t been changed in a while, then the cotton inside may have been worn away so much that it can no longer carry enough e-liquid to vaporise and then taste. Try changing your coil and seeing if that changes things.
