FAQs

What does short fill mean?

Short fill e-liquids are bottles which contain more than 10 ml of e-liquid, and they have a nicotine free formula.

You may notice that your short fill is not filled up to the top, this space is left in the bottle so that you can add nicotine shots if you prefer to use a nicotine containing e-liquid.

Short fills are available in a variety of different sizes, but most commonly are available in 50 ml or 100 ml options.

What is a nicotine shot?

A nicotine shot is a 10 ml bottle of usually flavourless e-liquid with a high nicotine content, normally 18 mg/ml. They are designed to be added to short fill e-liquids in order to add nicotine to the e-liquid, enough to create a 3 mg/ml e-liquid overall.

Short fills can be used without adding nicotine shots is you prefer a 0 mg e-liquid, and it is entirely personal preference whether to add them or not.

Is a high VG e-liquid right for my device?

High VG e-liquids have a thicker consistency than 50/50 or high PG formulas. This is because they have a higher ratio of vegetable glycerine, which has a syrupy consistency.

These e-liquids can be hard to absorb for devices with small coils, and so are best used in sub-ohm and advanced vape kits, which contain larger coils that can easily absorb a high VG formula.

If you are unsure which e-liquid would best suit your device, pop in to your local Evapo store or speak to a member of our customer service team for advice.

Why do short fills not contain nicotine?

UK law states that nicotine containing e-liquids cannot be sold in bottles larger than 10 ml. Short fills allow vapers to purchase e-liquid in bulk, but due to this law must be sold with a nicotine free formula.

The user can add nicotine to the e-liquid if they require a nicotine content in the form of nicotine shots. Each short fill e-liquid leaves sufficient room to add enough nicotine shots to create a 3 mg/ml e-liquid. For example, a 100 ml short fill would require two nicotine shots to create an overall 3 mg/ml strength, and so there is 20 ml of space in the bottle.
