CBD oil & CBD e-liquid FAQ

What is CBD?

CBD is classified as a health supplement and has been increasingly gaining popularity in recent years. These products can be easily found in all of your local Evapo vape shops, Evapo’s online vape store and health stores. CBD products are perfectly legal as the psychoactive compound THC has been removed.

CBD products can consist of CBD vape e-liquid, CBD oil also known as tinctures, CBD disposable vapes, and CBD gummies or edibles.

All of the CBD products we stock come from premium and licensed manufacturers to ensure that our customers only get the highest quality of CBD products available on the market.

How does CBD work?

CBD, otherwise known as cannabidiol, works by interacting with your own endocannabinoid receptors to enhance its abilities within your bodies central nervous system. This system plays a vital role in homeostasis.

The endocannabinoid system was originally discovered in the 1990’s and has been reported that this vast internal system is important for modulatory system in the function of the brain, immune tissues and endocrine. Within this system are type receptors CB1 and CB2. CB1 receptors are mainly found within the brain whereas the CB2 receptors mostly occur throughout the thymus, tonsils, spleen and your immune cells.

The endocannabinoid system works naturally whether the user is taking CBD or not.

You can find out more about CBD, how it works, what CBD solutions are available and much more from our 'CBD Guide' blog post.

What CBD should I get?

There are a variety of CBD products available, meaning you can find one that works best with your daily routine.

The fastest way to get CBD into your system is through vaping as both your mouth and lungs absorb it into your blood stream. You can get CBD e-liquids that are already mixed and ready to vape in your starter kit or pod kit.

We always recommend you do not vape CBD and nicotine together as the effects of each of these compounds can counteract the other.

If you don’t vape then there are other options like CBD oil which is placed under the tongue to be absorbed and much more.

Which CBD strength is best for me?

As CBD has non-psychoactive properties it makes it an ideal product for therapeutic use.

CBD effects everyone differently so what feels strong to you may not to someone else. We recommend you start using a relatively low strength and take note of each day on the effects.

If you find that the effects are too weak then you can either increase the amount of times you use it daily or increase the strength of the CBD product you’re using.

If you find that the effects are too strong, then you can reduce the amount of times you are using it or decrease the strength of the CBD product you use.

What does CBD stand for?

CBD is an abbreviation for cannabidiol, this is one of the naturally occurring and active cannabinoid compounds found within the cannabis sativa plant.

CBD is extracted from these cannabis sativa plants through a variety of means such as CO2 extraction, alcohol extraction, CBD isolate or distillate and then tested to ensure it meets regulatory standards of no THC or less than 0.01% THC and verified by a licensed and accredited lab.

What are the benefits of CBD?

As we are not a healthcare provider, we are unable to provide information on health benefits on this product and recommend speaking with your local GP or researching CBD online on reputable forums.

A variety of reputable online forums and scientific studies speculate from their research that CBD may have a variety of health benefits from offsetting anxiety and depression, reducing PTSD symptoms, inhibit arthritis symptoms, relieve unmanageable pain and more.

As always, we recommend speaking with your GP or health care professional about the benefits of CBD and whether it may be a viable option for you to use.

Is CBD legal in the UK?

Yes, although CBD is derived from the cannabis plant it is processed to remove all but the smallest traces of THC. As long as the CBD has 0.2% or less THC, it is completely legal to buy and sell in the UK.

However, if you see CBD products being advertised as containing higher amounts of THC, these products are not legal and have likely not been subjected to the necessary quality and safety checks. This is because THC is a psychoactive substance which is illegal in the UK.

Will CBD get me high?

No, the substance within the cannabis plant that has psychoactive properties is THC, and it is not legal in the UK. For this reason, CBD products are processed to remove THC, leaving only slight traces of 0.2% or less, which is why they are legal to buy and sell.

CBD products are anecdotally reported to assist with better sleep and mood, and to ease pain and inflammation, but will not cause any kind of high. You can read more about CBD in our handy ‘CBD guide’.

Is CBD safe?

Yes, CBD is devoid of any psychoactive properties and is used as a supplement, making it safe to use. There are many different ways to use CBD, like CBD e-liquids and CBD disposable vapes, CBD gummies, and CBD oral drops.

It is anecdotally reported to help ease pain and inflammation, and aid with better sleep and relaxation, however its medical uses are still being researched and we recommend consulting your GP if you intend to use CBD to aid with a medical condition.

Are CBD products vegan friendly?

CBD e-liquids and oral drops have a naturally vegan friendly formula, however with products like CBD gummies you may need to check the product specifications and ingredients to confirm if they are vegan.

The CBD gummies we stock all have vegan friendly ingredients, although some may contain bees wax so you may want to choose an alternative depending on your preference.

What strength CBD should I buy?

Working out which strength of CBD would best suit you is unfortunately not an exact art. It depends on many different factors, such as how you are consuming the CBD, your weight and metabolism, and the frequency at which you use it.

As a general rule we recommend starting with a lower strength, and you can always work your way up if you feel that you would be better suited to a higher strength. Something to bear in mind is that vaping has been identified as the most effective way to use CBD, as it ensures the highest level of absorption.

Should I take pure CBD or broad-spectrum CBD?

Pure CBD, most often referred to as full-spectrum CBD, is not as commonly available in the UK and is usually more common in countries with more relaxed laws around THC. This is because full-spectrum CBD aims to include all of the terpenes, flavonoids, and many of the cannabinoids found in the cannabis plant, which includes THC.

Broad-spectrum CBD is much more common in the UK because it usually includes only trace elements of THC, if it is not completely removed altogether, while still including many of the other cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids. As CBD products need to have less than 0.2% THC to be legally sold in the UK, broad-spectrum products are a much more suitable option.

You can read more about this in our blog post ‘Full spectrum vs broad spectrum CBD’.
