New e-liquids FAQ

How do I choose a new e-liquid?

When choosing a new e-liquid you first need to identify the best ratio for your device. Starter kits and pod systems are best suited to 50/50 or high PG e-liquids, whereas most sub-ohm devices require a high VG e-liquid.

Next, consider the type of nicotine you prefer, if any. Freebase nicotine offers a throat hit that feels similar to smoking. Nicotine salts on the other hand offer a smooth inhale, even at high nicotine strengths.

Finally, choose a flavour that you love! Start with flavours you know you like such as your favourite fruit or candy.

What are e-liquids?

E-liquids, also known as vape juices or oils, are specially designed liquids for use in e-cigarettes. When heated inside the e-cigarette these e-liquids form a vapour which can be inhaled by the user.

E-liquids contain minimal ingredients, made up mainly of vegetable glycerine and propylene glycol, with the addition of flavourings and nicotine if desired by the user.

E-liquids and e-cigarettes are used as an alternative to smoking, and inhaling the vapour feels familiar to those who are making the switch from smoking to vaping. The e-liquids do not contain tobacco, and so do not contain the countless harmful substances found in tobacco smoke.

How do I use e-liquids?

E-liquids need to be used inside of an e-cigarette, also known as a vape kit. You just need to fill up the tank or pod on your device with your new e-liquid and it will be ready to go. How to fill the tank or pod varies between devices, but it is important to note that it should not be put in the mouthpiece, as this will not fill the tank but will instead flood the coil and lead to leaking and spitting. If you are unsure of how to fill your tank or pod consult the user manual which came with your vape device. Ensure that you close the tank or pod once it has been filled to avoid e-liquid from leaking out.

When the device is fired, either through pressing the button or inhaling through the mouthpiece depending on the device, the battery will send power to the coil which will in turn heat up and vaporise the e-liquid.

If you need any help with filling your tank of using your device, pop in to your local Evapo store and speak to an Evapo colleague, or reach out to our customer service team and we will be happy to help.

Do all e-liquids contain nicotine?

No, not all e-liquids contain nicotine. E-liquids are available both with or without nicotine, and which option is best is dependent on the user. Nicotine containing e-liquids are available in 10 ml bottles in a number of different strengths ranging up to 20 mg/ml, so that vapers can select the nicotine strength that best matches their previous smoking habits to keep cravings at bay.

Short fill e-liquids, bottles larger than 10 ml, are only available with a nicotine free formula, as per UK law. However, these bottles are filled short of the top of the bottle, for example 50 ml of 0 mg e-liquid in a 60 ml bottle, to leave room for the addition of a nicotine shot if required by the user.
