About Starter vape kits

A vape starter kit describes an e-cigarette which is aimed at new vapers, those who are using an e-cigarette as a stop smoking aid. These kits are designed to replicate the feel of inhaling on a cigarette, with the aim to feel familiar to an ex cigarette smoker, using airflow design and power output to replicate this. Some starter kits are aimed towards those whose preference was to smoke pre-rolled cigarettes, with a slightly airier inhale, and others are aimed towards those who preferred to roll their own cigarettes, with a tighter airflow design.

Public Health England has found e-cigarettes to be 95% less harmful than smoking tobacco, and many health organisations including the NHS, are encouraging smokers to make the switch to vaping as a healthier alternative to smoking. The Royal College London recently found that e-cigarettes are the most effective way for smokers to kick the habit, and are much more effective than traditional nicotine replacement therapies such as gum or patches. Many people have found that vaping is an enjoyable way to give up smoking, letting them keep their nicotine cravings at bay whilst fitting easily into their daily routine and allowing them to choose from the huge range of delicious e liquid flavours available and slowly drop down their nicotine intake as and when they are ready.

Starter kits tend to be of a simpler design than the more advanced kits, making them easy to use for new vapers. They have built in batteries that are easily charged through a charger port, and will usually indicate to the user when the battery is running low via a screen or LED light, depending on the device. It is usually recommended that starter kits are used with a 50/50 e liquid, as the thinner liquid is easily absorbed by the small coil or pod. 50/50 e liquids are available in a range of different nicotine strengths from 0mg through to 20mg, depending on the user’s preference and previous smoking habits and countless different flavours to suit a range of flavour palettes.

Starter vape kits FAQ

What are starter vape kits?

Starter kits are devices designed with new users in mind. E-cigarettes are primarily used as a less harmful alternative to smoking, so making the device replicate the inhale of a cigarette and easy to use is at the forefront of the design process.

Starter kits are usually small in size with built-in batteries that are easily charged via a USB charger cable. To make them easy to use they tend to have a fixed power output, or simple low, medium, high settings. This means that the power output suits the coil, so the user doesn’t need to worry about setting the wattage too high and burning out the coil. The tank may have adjustable airflow, but the airflow design will have been curated to replicate the feel of a cigarette and for a mouth-to-lung vaping style.

How much do starter vape kits cost?

Starter kits range in price from under £10 up to around £40. The price will depend on what type of device you are looking at, for example, a simple prefilled pod kit will usually cost around £10, as these are small devices with minimal extra features. Whereas a more powerful starter kit with a tank and button functions will cost a bit more as they have extra features and are more complex.

Here at Evapo we stock starter kits from all of the top vaping brands at competitive prices, with many available in bundles and deals helping you get even more bang for your buck!

How do I choose a starter vape kit?

When choosing a starter kit there are a few different things you should consider. If you know that you will likely get on better with a simple device that does not need much maintenance, a prefilled pod system could be a great place to start. These devices require no coil changes, and the pods cannot be refilled, and they are usually inhale activated so there are no buttons, making them an extremely straight-forward vaping option.

On the other hand, if you know that you would like the option to choose the exact flavour and nicotine strength e-liquid, and to switch between flavours regularly, a refillable device would be a better match. You can opt for a refillable pod system or a tank style device.

Finally, consider if you would like any additional features such as adjustable airflow, this allows you to adjust how much air flows through the coil, making the inhale looser or tighter to suit your preferences. This option is most commonly found in tank devices.
