Birmingham started as a market town, and these roots are present even to this day with Birmingham being a hub of development and innovation within the UK.
Birmingham is also the second most populated city in the United Kingdom behind London, with its shopping centre the Bullring receiving an annual footfall exceeding almost all others in England and considered one of the best shopping spots since the 12th Century.
