Vape pens are a popular style of device for many new vapers. Most vape pen style devices have a compact internal battery, which is easily charged using a USB cable, for straight forward all day vaping.
There are two main types of vape pen; the all in one devices like the Aspire PockeX, where the tank section is built on to the battery, meaning the tank is designed specifically to work in perfect harmony with the battery design, but the tank cannot be removed and replaced with another. Or, vape pens where the tank/pod can be removed and replaced, like the Elf Bar ELFX pod kit or Innokin T18 II kit.
Vape pens make fantastic starter kits as they are easy to set up, with minimal buttons and variables for a new vaper to learn to use. Most have only one button, used for both the on/off function and the fire function. Meaning the button can be pressed multiple times in quick succession to turn the device on or off, or held down to fire the coil and produce vapour. While others have no buttons at all, and instead utilise draw-activation so you simply need to inhale through the mouthpiece to vape.
Some vape pens have fixed airflow designs, with either a tight airflow aimed towards smokers with a preference for hand rolled cigarettes, or a slightly looser design for those who favoured pre rolled cigarettes. Vape pens are usually best paired with a 50/50 or high PG e-liquid. This is because they are usually starter kits or pod systems which utilise small coils and need a thin e-liquid that is easy to absorb.
50/50 or high PG e-liquids have a thin consistency and this allows the coil to remain well saturated and quickly reabsorb e-liquid between puffs to avoid dry hits.
