About Batteries & chargers

Vape batteries are the same kind of batteries found in many other electronics such as mobile phones and laptop computers, known as li ion batteries. These lithium ion batteries are lightweight but powerful, making them ideal for use in portable electronic gadgets, meaning most people will use li ion battery products on a daily basis. They are rechargeable batteries using intercalated lithium for the electrodes, unlike disposable lithium batteries which utilise metallic lithium.

They are ideal for use in electronics as they are very lightweight with a high energy density, giving devices as long battery life without weighing them down. They also have minimal loss of charge, at only 5% per month, and can be recharged hundreds of times throughout their lifetime before they need to be replaced, ideal for devices like e-cigarettes which are in constant daily use.

Li ion batteries make the ideal e cig battery, and with an average lifetime of 2-3 years the user will likely upgrade to a new device before the battery has degraded fully. There are two types of vape battery; internal and external.

Internal batteries are most common in starter kits and some intermediate kits, as they are light weight and make for a more straight forward and easy to use device. These devices are usually recharged via a micro USB cable or by plugging directly into a USB port, making charging easy both at home or on the go. Here at Evapo we stock a wide range of internal battery, also known as built-in battery, devices from some of the biggest brands, such as the Aspire PockeX, Innokin Endura T18 II, VOOPOO Drag Mini, Vaptio Solo and SMOK Nord.

External battery devices describe e-cigarettes that have removable batteries, usually 18650s, which can be charged separately in a battery bay charger. These kinds of batteries are used in advanced devices and some intermediate kits, and allow users to keep multiple sets of charged batteries so when one set needs to be recharged the user can quickly swap them out for a new pair, without having to wait around for them to charge. We stock a number of fantastic external battery devices, such as the UWELL Nunchaku, VOOPOO Drag 2, SMOK Morph 219 and GeekVape Aegis Solo.
