With the disposable vape ban coming in just a couple of months there has never been a better time to make the transition from disposable vapes to a reusable vape kit. When will disposable vapes be banned?
The disposable vapes ban is due to come into effect on 1st June 2025, and from this date all disposable vapes will no longer be legally available for purchase. While this gives disposable vape users plenty of time to stock up, it also gives the opportunity to start thinking about reusable alternatives that will still be available after the ban.
The ban defines disposable vapes as any device which cannot be recharged, refilled, or have the coil replaced. This includes devices which do have a rechargeable battery but cannot be refilled or have the coil changed, either through manually refilling the tank/pod and changing the coil, or by replacing the prefilled/refillable pod.

The benefits of reusable vapes
While disposable vapes can offer an easy and convenient vaping option, they also certainly have many drawbacks. Reusable vapes can still be extremely easy to use, small, lightweight, and convenient, while offering a number of benefits that you don’t get from disposables.
More cost effective
While disposables tend to be quite inexpensive when purchased individually, when used all the time the cost can very quickly add up. Because you have the replace the entire device so frequently, many people will find they are buying a number of new vapes a week, which can get pretty expensive.
Although the initial cost of a reusable vape kit can be a little higher, the cost from that point is usually much lower, with a pack of prefilled pods or a 10ml bottle of e-liquid being similar in cost to one 2ml disposable vape, but lasting significantly longer.
That being said, there are a number of very budget-friendly options for reusable vape kits, especially when it comes to prefilled pod kits, some of which can be picked up for not much more than the price of a single disposable.
Reduced environmental impact
One of the main driving factors behind the disposable vape ban is the environmental impact that disposable vapes can have. Although they can be recycled, often they are not and are thrown away in general waste bins or even littered. Reusable vapes allow you to continue to use the same battery without having to constantly replace it. Prefilled pod kits will need to have the pod replaced regularly, however these small pods are safe to throw away and help cut down plastic waste significantly. Refillable vape kits create even less waste, with only the pod or coil, depending on the type of device, needing to be replaced periodically. While disposables are often available in quite a few different flavours, the room for choice often ends there. They have fixed airflow, rarely offer different power settings, and are commonly only available in high nicotine strengths or without nicotine.

This lets you experiment with different settings to find what feels most comfortable for you.
