Getting started with JUUL2

  • Attach a JUUL2 pod onto your device.
  • White lights will flash to indicate your JUUL2 pod is authentic and purple lights will flash to indicate pod e-liquid level.
  • To check battery level, tap the side of your device twice. Each light represents 25% battery level. Four lights indicate a full charge.
  • For the best experience, fully charge your device before first use.
  • Take small puffs from the mouthpiece until you find a comfortable draw.

How to charge the JUUL2 device

  • Plug your JUUL2 Charging Dock into a USB-A power source.
  • Place the charging contact of your device onto the Charging Dock.
  • The device will secure magnetically. White pulsing lights indicate your device is charging.
  • Four glowing lights indicate your device is fully charged. JUUL2 reaches a full charge in about one hour. Depending on your usage, a fully charged battery should last all day – or for the duration of a JUUL2 pod.

How do I clean my JUUL2?

  • Remove the JUUL2 pod from your device.
  • Using a clean dry cotton bud, gently wipe the areas where your device and pod connect, Charging Dock pins, and the charging contacts.
  • Never open or disassemble your device or pods to clean them.

How to check the JUUL2 device battery level

  • Double tap the side of your device.
  • 4 white lights indicate a full battery.
  • 3 lights indicate 75% or less battery remaining.
  • 2 lights indicate 50% or less battery remaining.
  • 1 light indicates 25% or less battery remaining.
  • 1 flashing red light indicates charging required.

How to pair JUUL2 with the app

Pharmaceutical grade propylene glycol and glycerol make up the majority of JUUL e-liquids. When heated they form an aerosol which carries the nicotine, benzoic acid, and flavours.

JUUL use pharmaceutical grade nicotine and benzoic acid, which, when combined, create a nicotine salt, which helps provide cigarette-like satisfaction.

Flavouring can be a mixture of natural and artificial ingredients which provide the specific taste profile in each JUUL2 pod.

Why is the JUUL app only available on the Google Play Store?

Currently the app is only available for Android users, but JUUL are working to expand their product offerings.

Connecting to your JUUL2 using Bluetooth

To use connected features, your JUUL2 needs to be paired to the app using Bluetooth.

Enable Bluetooth in your phone settings.

To pair your JUUL2 to the app, select “Pair a new JUUL2 Device” on the home screen, and follow the instructions for pairing. Your JUUL2 device needs to be within Bluetooth range approximately 3 metres (~10 feet).

How to lock and unlock your JUUL2 device

To prevent unauthorised use, you can lock your JUUL2 device at any time so that it will not produce vapour.

To manually lock and unlock your JUUL2 device, just click the lock icon on your home screen. Your device will need to be in Bluetooth range to lock or unlock.

To enable your JUUL2 device to lock automatically when it is out of Bluetooth range, select ‘Lock Options’.

If you have enabled Auto-Lock, simply bring the device back within Bluetooth range of your smartphone to unlock it.

How to locate your JUUL2 device

The app helps you to pinpoint the location of your JUUL2 device.

Check your app home screen to see if your JUUL2 device is within Bluetooth range. Once in connected range, tap the ring button to make your device play a locator sound. You can ring the device as often as needed.

If your JUUL2 device is out of Bluetooth range, click on the pin icon to open Locate My JUUL. This will launch a map that displays the location of your JUUL2 device when it was last connected to the app.

While you search for your device, click “NOTIFY ME WHEN JUUL2 RECONNECTS” to get a phone notification once it is back within Bluetooth range.

How to use usage insights

Once your JUUL2 device is connected to the app, you can view your activity in usage insights. Access usage insights by tapping the chart icon at the bottom of your screen, or by tapping the puff insights card in the home feed. Your usage insights graphs will fully populate following one week of activity.

In order to update your usage insights, ensure your phone and JUUL2 device are regularly in Bluetooth range of ~3 metres (10 feet).

About notifications

To receive notifications, please enable JUUL app notifications in your phone’s permission settings.

Enabling notifications will ensure that you get real-time updates to improve your JUUL2 experience. Notifications include:

  • Reconnection alert: enable notifications if your JUUL2 device has not synced with the app in more than a week.
  • Low battery alert: enable notification when your JUUL2 battery is low and requires charging.
  • Charge complete alert: enables notifications when your JUUL2 device is fully charged and ready to go.
  • Incompatible pod alert: enable notifications if an incompatible JUUL2 pod is attached.
About JUULpod ID

Each authentic JUUL2 pod has a unique identifier that allows your JUUL2 device to identify the flavour, strength, and approximate e-liquid level.

Information about the currently attached JUUL2 pod is available on the home screen of your JUUL app. Explore further details by clicking the right arrow next to the status bar.

What's a firmware update? How do I update my firmware?

Firmware is the software that controls the basic functions of your JUUL2 device.

JUUL make updates to this software periodically which ensure your device performs optimally and communicates with the app.

At times, the app may prompt you to update your device firmware. Some of these firmware updates are optional, however critical firmware updates are required for full functionality.

To initiate a firmware update, tap on the update option in these prompts.

You may opt in to automatic firmware updates to ensure your device is always running the latest firmware:

Go to App settings → and turn on the Automatic updates option under Devices

To check if your JUUL2 needs a firmware update:

Go to Device Settings → you will see the current firmware version your device is running → a “firmware update available” option will be visible if you are able to update firmware.

Your JUUL2 is not connecting to Bluetooth

Make sure your JUUL2 device is charged. Check your battery level by tapping twice on the side of the device. If the lights glow, your device has a sufficient charge. If your JUUL2 device does not have sufficient power, set it on the charger for at least 5 minutes in order to pair with the app.

Verify that your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on in your phone Settings, and place your JUUL2 device close to your phone.

If you are still having trouble connecting, go into your phone Bluetooth settings and turn it off and then back on again.

If there is still no connection, try restarting your phone and repeating the steps again.

JUUL2 warranty

JUUL devices come with a two year limited warranty from the date of retail purchase from from an authorised JUUL Labs retailer by a person at least 18 years old. JUUL Labs only warrants the JUUL device against defects in materials and workmanship that arise under normal conditions and use.

Proof of purchase may be requested before warranty service will be provided. Please retain your purchase receipt or other evidence of purchase for your records.

Log in to your age verified JUUL account at JUUL.co.uk, or if you do not already have one, create a new JUUL account online and age verify. You must pass JUUL Labs’ age verification process and agree to JUUL Labs’ terms and conditions and privacy policy to receive warranty service.

Contact JUUL Labs customer care to arrange warranty service by submitting a support request here, including as many details as possible of the problem experienced to ensure prompt service.

Can I return my device for a refund?

If the tamper-proof seal is broken, a refund cannot be given. Devices purchased through an authorised JUUL retailer will not be refunded by JUUL Labs; in such case, any refunds must be obtained from the authorised retailer from whom you purchased the device and will be subject to the retailer’s policyon refunds.

The lights on my JUUL2 are red

If all four lights on your JUUL2 device are glowing red, it means your device is locked. To unlock your JUUL2, bring it back within Bluetooth range of your phone and unlock your device on the JUUL app.

If your JUUL2 device displays two red lights alternating from left to right when you insert a pod, this indicates that your device has detected an incompatible pod.

Incompatible pods may be counterfeit, and JUUL cannot guarantee their quality. Your device will not produce vapour from incompatible pods. Your device will produce vapour if you insert a new, authentic JUUL2 pod.

My JUUL2 device is not producing vapour

If your JUUL2 device is not producing vapour, try the following steps:

  • Ensure JUUL2 device has sufficient power

Make sure your JUUL2 device is charged. Check your battery level by tapping twice on the side of the device. If the lights glow white, your device has a sufficient charge. If your JUUL2 device does not have sufficient power, set it on the charger for at least 5 minutes.

  • Ensure device is unlocked

If all four lights on your JUUL2 device are glowing red when you attempt to draw on your device, it means your device is locked. To unlock your JUUL2, bring it back within Bluetooth range of your phone and unlock your device on the JUUL app.

  • Ensure JUUL2 pod is compatible

  • Try a new pod

Fully remove your JUUL2 pod and attach a new pod. You should hear a click and see four white lights on your JUUL2 device lights flash when the pod is inserted to indicate that your JUUL2 pod is authentic. Purple lights will then flash to indicate pod e-liquid level.

My JUUL2 device isn’t charging

Make sure your USB charging dock is connected to a working power source. You can plug the charging dock into any power source with a USB-A port, such as your computer or a wall outlet with a USB port.

Confirm that the metal contacts on the JUUL2 device are making a secure connection to the magnetic USB charging dock. Ensure the four lights on the side of your JUUL2 are facing up when the JUUL2 is on the charger.

Clean the charging terminals on your JUUL2 as well as the USB charging dock itself using a clean, dry cotton bud.

My JUUL2 device will not unlock
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
  • Ensure your device is in Bluetooth range of your phone
  • Check your device battery level.
  • Close and restart the JUUL app
  • Restart your phone

JUUL2 pod troubleshooting

My JUUL2 pods will not fit into my JUUL2 device

To resolve:

  • Remove the pod you are trying to attach
  • Replace with a new JUUL2 pod
  • Ensure you are using a JUUL2 device
  • Ensure the pod is authentic, purchased from an authorised retailer
  • Ensure you are attaching the pod correctly
  • Check your device to make sure it’s fully charged
  • Try cleaning your JUUL2 with a cotton bud
  • Inspect your device for visible damage
The JUUL2 pods will not stay connected to my JUUL2 device

To resolve:

  • Remove the loose fitting pod
  • Replace with a new JUUL2 pod
  • Ensure you are using a JUUL2 device
  • Ensure pod is authentic, purchased from an authorised retailer
  • Ensure you are attaching the pod correctly
  • Check your device to make sure it’s fully charged
  • Try cleaning your JUUL2 device and pod with a clean cotton bud
  • Inspect your device for visible damage
My JUUL2 pods do not produce any vapour

If your JUUL2 pod is not producing vapour, try the following steps:

Ensure JUUL2 device has sufficient power - make sure your JUUL2 device is charged. Check your battery level by tapping twice on the side of the device. If the lights glow white, your device has a sufficient charge. If your JUUL2 device does not have sufficient power, set it on the charger for at least 5 minutes. My JUUL2 pods appear to be leaking when I use them?

If your JUUL2 pod is leaking, try removing the JUUL2 pod and wiping off the liquid before inserting it back into the device. If leakage continues, JUUL recommend you:

  • Try a new pod
  • Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water

JUUL2 app troubleshooting

I cannot download the app to pair with my JUUL2 device

Check the following:

  • Are you using an Android phone? The JUUL app is not available for iOS at this time.
  • Is it a regional problem? Make sure you are using the UK Google Play store.
  • Is your phone connected to the internet?
  • Does your phone have enough available memory space for a new app?
JUUL2 is not connecting to Bluetooth

Make sure your JUUL2 is charged. Check your battery level by tapping twice on the side of the device. If the lights glow white, your device has a sufficient charge. If your device does not have sufficient power, you will need to charge your JUUL2 for at least 5 minutes to pair with the app.

Verify that your phone’s Bluetooth is turned on in your phone settings, and place your JUUL2 device within range to your smartphone.

If you are still having trouble connecting, open your phone’s settings and turn Bluetooth off and then back on again.

If there is still no connection, try restarting your phone and repeating the steps again.

I can’t see information about my device in the app
  • Ensure Bluetooth is enabled on your phone
  • Ensure your device is in Bluetooth range of your phone
  • Check your device battery level.
  • Close and restart the JUUL app
  • Restart your phone
Why is there a JUUL notification on my phone’s desktop?
  • Auto-lock is enabled
  • You’ve received a configurable notification you have opted into (can configure those in app settings, 4 possible notifications:
  • Connect JUUL2 Device reminder: When device needs to sync
  • Battery alerts: When device is about to run out of battery
  • Charging complete: When device has received a full charge

Check the following:

  • Your device needs to be within Bluetooth range which is 3 metres (~10 feet).

  • The device is sufficiently charged.
  • The JUUL2 pod is fully inserted.
  • The JUUL2 pod is authentic. Two alternating flashing red lights indicate an incompatible JUUL2 pod is attached.
My JUUL2 device doesn't play a sound when I attempt to use the Locate My JUUL feature

If you have your device in hand, Check the following:

  • The device needs to be within Bluetooth range which is 3 metres (~10 feet).
  • Bluetooth needs to be turned on.
  • The device needs to be sufficiently charged.
  • If you can’t find your device, and it isn’t making a sound. Check the following:
  • As you search for your JUUL2 device, click “NOTIFY ME WHEN IT RECONNECTS” in the app homepage to get a push notification once it is back within Bluetooth range.
  • Check the Locate My JUUL map feature to see where it was last paired.
  • Walk around the area your device was last paired to ensure you are within range to hear your device
How do I delete the JUUL app from my phone?
  • Open Settings on your smartphone
  • Tap on Apps or Application manager
  • Tap on the app you want to remove. You may need to scroll to find the right one
