About DIY e-liquids

DIY e-liquids allow you to mix your own e-liquid to your exact ratio preferences. This can be a very cost-effective way to purchase e-liquid and is ideal if you want to stock up on a flavour you know you love.

The flavour concentrates in our range come in the same 60ml unicorn bottle as other short fill e-liquids but contains only the flavouring which will need to be mixed with vegetable glycerine (VG) and propylene glycol (PG), as well as nicotine if needed.

Alone, these flavour concentrates are extremely concentrated so will not taste pleasant until diluted with VG and PG and are also not an appropriate consistency for vaping.

If you have any questions about how to use DIY e-liquids get in touch with our customer service team or pop in to your local Evapo store.

DIY e-liquid FAQ

How do I use DIY e-liquids?

DIY e-liquids are usually available as an e-liquid bottle with a small amount of your chosen flavour concentrate inside. Before using this, you will need to mix it with your preferred ratio of vegetable glycerine (VG) and propylene glycol (PG) which are the two base ingredients in e-liquids. You can also add nicotine shots if you require a nicotine content.

There are many helpful DIY e-liquid calculators available online which will help you identify the exact measurements of each ingredient that you need to add in order to produce your preferred e-liquid formula.

Can I add nicotine to DIY e-liquids?

Yes, nicotine shots can be added to DIY e-liquids in the same way they are added to short fill e-liquids. However, if you prefer a nicotine free formula you can mix the flavour concentrate with VG and PG only.

When adding nic shots you can use an online DIY e-liquid mixing calculator to help you identify how many to use to reach your preferred nicotine strength.

Can I use flavour concentrates without mixing them with VG and PG?

Flavour concentrates alone do not taste pleasant, as the flavour is much too concentrated and needs to be diluted to taste as intended. They are also not a suitable consistency for vaping and adding a VG/PG base mix is needed to create a liquid that is vapable. If you are at all unsure about how to use your flavour concentrates do not hesitate to reach out to our customer service team or pop in to your local Evapo store for advice.

What ratio of VG and PG should I add to a DIY e-liquid?

The ratio of vegetable glycerine (VG) and propylene glycol (PG) you need to add to your DIY e-liquid will depend on what ratio e-liquid you prefer and is most suitable for your vape device.

Sub-ohm and advanced vape kits are usually best used with a high VG e-liquid, for example 70VG/30PG. Whereas starter kits and pod systems work best with a 50/50 or high PG e-liquid, which contains either an equal amount of VG and PG, or a higher ratio of PG.

There are a number of online DIY e-liquid calculators which can help you work out the exact measurements of each ingredient you will need to create your preferred formula of e-liquid.
