How do I add nicotine to a short fill?
If you want to add nicotine to your short fill it can be purchased in the form of nicotine shots. These are 10 ml bottles which contain a VG/PG unflavoured base mix with an 18 mg/ml nicotine strength. Short fills will have enough room left in the bottle to accommodate enough nicotine shots to create a 3 mg/ml strength overall, for example, a 50 ml short fill will contain 50 ml of 0 mg e-liquid in a 60 ml bottle, leaving room for one 10 ml nicotine shot to create 60 ml of 3 mg/ml e-liquid.
It is easy to add nicotine shots, you simply need to remove the cap on both the short fill bottle and the nic shot and empty the contents of the nicotine shot into the short fill, replace the short fill cap and lid and give it a thorough shake.
Can I make my high VG short fill into a 50/50 e-liquid?
Most short fills available have a high VG formula, which is not suitable for many starter kits and pod systems as the e-liquid is too thick. But it is actually quite easy to make any high VG short fill into a 50/50 formula by adding 100% PG nicotine shots.
For a 50 ml short fill, you will need to add two 10 ml bottles of 100% PG nic shots which will create a 6 mg/ml 50/50 overall e-liquid. You may need to decant some of the e-liquid as there is usually only enough room in a 50 ml short fill for one nicotine shot.
