I don’t know about you, but in summer there is nothing I love more than a refreshing fruity drink that makes me forget that I am not actually laying on the beach somewhere exotic with the sand between my toes!
I figured, why not try my hand at a little mixology and recreate some of my favourite cocktails with e-liquids, so I can enjoy them all day and get a little taste of summer for the perfect pick me up.
Please note that none of these e-liquids contain alcohol.
Mixology 101
While we all know that nicotine shots can be added to short fill e-liquids to add a nicotine content, you may not have considered that any 10 ml 18 mg/ml e-liquid can also be used as a nicotine shot.
Nic shots are designed to not change the flavour of the e-liquid they are added to, with the exception of flavoured nicotine shots. However, by using a 10 ml e-liquid in place of a nic shot, you can combine the flavours to curate your own unique flavour creations.
I’ve been experimenting with flavour combinations to create e-liquids inspired by my favourite cocktails, take a look at the recipes below for some summer cocktail e-liquid inspiration.
Passionstar Martini
I may have changed the name a bit but I think we are all familiar with this modern day classic, which was actually first created here in sunny old England!
The Passionstar Martini combines the exotic taste of passionfruit with a hint of lime and vanilla, it’s perfectly sweet, tropical, and definitely putting out some real summer vibes.
To achieve the distinct flavour of this cocktail I started with a Slushie passion & mango slush short fill which provides the passionfruit base with some sweet mango for good measure, it also has a slushy finish which makes it really refreshing. I then added a 10 ml bottle of Ohm Brew 50/50 lemon & lime lolly in an 18 mg/ml, for the perfect hint of citrus and vanilla to finish it off.
Bellini Fizz
The Bellini is an absolute classic that combines peach puree with champagne, but I decided to mix it up a little bit by adding in some other complimentary flavours to really take it to the next level.
For the Bellini Fizz I started off with a short fill bottle of Crafted pear & lime fizz which emulates the flavour of a white grape champagne with hints of English pear and tart lime. In place of a nic shot I added one 10 ml bottle of Ohm Brew 50/50 juicy peach for that authentic peach flavour and a hint of sweetness.
Pineapple Breeze
This flavour is really a combination of two cocktails that absolutely scream summer to me, the Sea Breeze and the Bay Breeze.
The Sea Breeze has a grapefruit base whereas the Bay Breeze has a pineapple base, so why not combine the two for a full on gust of flavour!
I used an Ohm Brew Badass Blends punchy pineapple short fill for the base of this e-liquid, and mixed in a 10 ml bottle of Ohm Brew 50/50 groovy grapefruit for the nic shot. But the beauty of this combination is that you can reverse the flavours if you prefer and use an Ohm Brew Badass Blends groovy grapefruit short fill as the base and add an 18 mg/ml bottle of Ohm Brew 50/50 punchin’ pineapple for a more grapefruit forward e-liquid.
Strawberry Daiquiri
A good Strawberry Daiquiri is the perfect poolside companion, and as it is served frozen there is nothing more refreshing on a hot summers day.
When mixing this flavour I really wanted to capture the ‘frozen’ element of this beverage, so I opted for the Slushie strawberry slush short fill which has a hint of coolness for that real slushy feel. To finish it off I added an Ohm Brew 50/50 lemon & lime lolly in an 18 mg/ml
Apple Mojito
Mojitos are a personal favourite of mine, I love the combination of citrus and mint that is just so refreshing and crisp, so of course I had to have a go at making a mojito flavour!
For the base of this flavour I used a Slush Brew green mix short fill which pairs lime and apple with a cool finish. With this combo you can experiment with how minty and cool you would like it to be, for a sweet and mellow mint flavour I would recommend using a 10 ml bottle of Ohm Brew 50/50 spearmint. But if you prefer a really icy hit try mixing in a 10 ml bottle of Ohm Brew’s 50/50 ice menthol or sensation X.
Spiked Lemonade
Finally, if you like the sound of mixing your own flavours but want to start off with something simple, why not try creating your own spiked lemonade flavour?
Start out with a Flavour lab cloudy lemonade short fill and mix in a 10 ml bottle of your favourite fruity flavour. Some flavours I love to mix into a lemonade are Ohm Brew’s 50/50 rockin’ raspberry sorbet or strawberry storm, but honestly you can really go wild with this flavour!
